Main migration waves

During the 19th century and until the Depression of the Thirties of the 20th century, over 60 million of Europeans migrated.
In a first wave, a lot of people from countries in central and northern Europe (UK, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Norway...) emigrated to the United States and Canada.

In the last third of the 19th century a lot of people from southern and eastern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland and the Russian Empire) emigreted to South America: mainly Argentina and Brazil.
